Background

Charlyn joined Redstone after interning at J.P. Morgan Chase & Co, where she worked on corporate debt refinancing projects. She also worked at the Gephardt Institute for Civic & Community Engagement at Washington University, where she coordinated the inaugural run of a pre-orientation program for 350 first year WashU students centering themes of community engagement; environmental sustainability; and diversity, equity and inclusion on campus and in St. Louis.

Charlyn also co-founded her business school’s annual Diversity & Inclusion Summit, inviting students, faculty, and professionals to spend a day engaging in dialogue and workshops around building inclusive spaces and bringing awareness to identity within the workplace.

This work excites her as she spent many years on the leadership team for Teaching Racial Understanding Through Honesty (TRUTH) hosting facilitations with student groups, training new members, and hosting campus-wide events that addressed racial equity, identity literacy, intersectionality, and systems of oppression.

Charlyn has other pro-bono work experience with St. Louis non-profits and small businesses and was very active in her business fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi, holding leadership roles in standards and conduct, recruitment, and new member education.

In her free time, Charlyn enjoys practicing yoga, reading psychology or philosophy, writing poetry, and hosting friends.
