Background

Charlie joined Redstone after graduating from Duke University as a Robertson Scholar. His studies in philosophy, politics, and economics drives his interest in evidence-based solutions to support sustainable global development.

While at Duke, Charlie co-founded the first knowledge network on sustainable development led by students, through which he had the privilege to bring together peers across 50 countries and organize a global youth innovation challenge with United Nations human development experts.

Previously, Charlie researched international financial institutions while leading a digital strategy refresh at an African-led development consulting firm based in Nairobi, London, and Beijing, took a gap year to cover public health and immigrant communities as the youngest staff journalist at the Houston Chronicle, and co-wrote a techno-economic and environmental analysis of green hydrogen electrolyzers for a renewable energy company.

Born and raised in Houston, Texas – where the American South meets the global South – Charlie enjoys exploring diaspora cuisines and cultures, rock climbing, and hiking around the world.
