Redstone helped The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust develop a national strategy to increase college and career readiness among K-12 students. Redstone worked with program staff and K-12 education experts to translate a high-level theory of change and logic model into an actionable and measurable grantmaking strategy. Considering the rapidly evolving context, we assessed the relative value of philanthropic investments spanning public engagement, teacher supports, and technical assistance in both the near and longer terms.

Rather than creating a static plan, we helped to develop a series of scenarios, and a monitoring and evaluation plan to help the program understand its progress and manage emerging risks. We then helped the staff update their day-to-day planning and management tools to implement and refine the strategy.
